Unlike Hoodie Allen I have faith in Brooklyn…but love this song!

Relaxing song by Meiko for my Wednesday morning…even though right now I’d rather the lights off…
Don’t even remember how I came across this guy. pandora, a friend’s playlist…no clue. All I remember is the second Alex Clare started singing he had my full attention. And his whole album has been on repeat all morning and I didn’t know what tracks to select for you! Be an addict with me!
Not my usual beat…but why corner yourself?
So soon after discovering her Hindi Zahra paid a little visit to NYC and of course I was there. I was a little unsure about going to see her live because her music is more “tamed” as in you’re not jumping around and screaming lyrics that you think are right at the top of your lungs. But I decided to go anyway and it was such an experience! Definitely not what I expected. The venue was kind of empty and people were sitting aournd in chairs…yes CHAIRS! I thought ugh this is gonna suck…and then Hindi got on stage and everything changed.
Everyone gathered around and sat on the floor in front of the stage giving her 100% of their attention. Then she started singing and people were whistling and confessing their love. As the music picked up we were all dancing strangers with strangers and it felt like you had just walked into someone’s private party for their closest friends. It was so much fun!
“NY is a beautiful city because it’s proof that all cultures can live together” – Hindi Zahra
Wow it’s been a while! I’ve been in kind of lull music wise. A whole bunch of projects on my plate that I haven’t been paying much attention but I came across this EP today and its been on replay all morning. I’ve already facebooked it – twice. Emailed it to friends. IM’ed a couple more with it and feel I need to share with you all as well!
Was so upset that it’s only an EP can’t wait for the entire album to come out and for them to start touring!!! The Herbert Bail Orchestra you’ve made a fan out of me!
I could go on about how international this Hindi Zahra is but its her music and sound that blows you away so listen for yourself and she’ll reveal a little bit about herself along the way:
Hunting down the rest of her album Handmade now
…or does he? Or doooes he? I was confused because I had never heard about it before and my thought process went something like this: “Ok Lego House – cute name. Wait it says Ed Sheeran…did Mister Grint not think that Rupert Grint was rockstar-ish enough that he changed it? But if he changed it…I mean Ed Sheeran? Really? Wait … I like the song. No wait.. is it him? Huh? Wait hold on a second? Whaaaa??? “
Oooooooooh.
Almost got me
Well actually you did cause I love the song now… and ps its better the second time around

Came across this awesome music video project for Johnny Cash’s Ain’t No Grave…yes I said project. Its called The Johnny Cash Project and was created by Aaron Koblin, who also created The Wilderness Downtown video/experience for Arcade Fire. So check it out you can draw pictures (that follow the story line set-up for the video) and all the images get collected and curated to put together the video. Fans and/or artists can collaborate continuously so the video will keep changing as people add and vote off images. That’s pretty awesome! I’m probably not making any sense and since a photo (or in this case a video) is worth a 1000 words see it with your own eyes!

There are different versions of the video so make sure you explore them all!
It’s been a while since I’ve put together a sound track for you guys! So I think I owe you completely fresh music never mentioned before! (at least on my blog anyway) Some tunes for your weekend enjoy!
Dominant Legs - Clawing Out the Walls
Wolf Gang – The King and All of His Men
Diamond Rings - Something Else
Patrick Wolf - House
Walk the Moon – Anna Sun
I know they are all a little “summery” but you know what? There’s no winter music is there? Unless it’s like Christmas carols or something…ew…listening to that music should only be permitted on actual Christmas none of this 2 months before Christmas caroling. Anyway!
Happy friday and have an amazing weekend!
